Q. Can CourseCat design the Catalog to complement our school's web site?
A. Yes, we will incorporate your school logo and school colors into the Catalog. Additionally, at your request, we will try to incorporate your school web site's look and feel into the Catalog.

Q. Does CourseCat develop Online Catalogs for schools nationwide?
A. Yes we do.  Our Sample Catalog uses a fictitious school district in one specific state, however, we develop catalogs for schools nationwide.  In fact, we will develop an Online Catalog for any school worldwide where the Catalog language would be in English.

Q. We have multiple high schools in our district.  Do we have to purchase a separate Catalog for each of them?
A. You probably only have to purchase one catalog for your district. One Catalog can serve one school or many schools.  We understand that often different schools within a district offer different courses. Each school's Catalog area will display only the courses offered at that school.

Q. We have other information which is included in our printed catalog. Can this information be included with the Online Catalog?
A. Yes, virtually any document or information which is included in a printed catalog can be included in the CourseCat Online Catalog.  Information can be provided in web pages or pdf documents.  Additionally, if you have a need to collect information from your Catalog's visitors, we can provide that functionality as well.

Q. Do we have to input the course information into the database?
A. If you have your course catalog information in an electronic format (Microsoft Word, Access, text file, etc.) CourseCat will probably be able to transfer that information directly into the database.  Additionally, If your course catalog information is only in printed form, CourseCat offers optional catalog data input services.  Our goal is to provide you with a turnkey solution which is fully populated with your course data.

Q. What is the average turnaround time for the production and delivery of a Course Catalog?
A. Our mission is to deliver each Catalog as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.  Each Catalog is tailored to the needs of your school or district.  Because the number of schools, the number of courses and each client's needs vary greatly, we cannot state an average turnaround time.  However, if you request a no-cost, no-obligation quote, we will provide you with an approximate turnaround time once we have determined your specific needs.

Q. Will you accept our school or district's Purchase Order?
A. Yes, we do accept Purchase Orders.  A short credit approval process is required.

Q. What does the CourseCat Online Course Catalog cost?
A. Because the number of schools, the number of courses and each client's needs vary greatly, we cannot give a price here.  However, if you request a no-cost, no-obligation quote, we will provide you with a firm cost once we have discussed your specific needs.

Q. In the CourseCat Sample Catalog, you allow the courses to be viewed by Department, by Pathway and Concentration and by UC Approved.  Are we limited to this configuration?
A. You are not limited to this configuration.  The courses can be displayed in any configuration for which the data is available.  Other common configurations are: by appropriate grade, by graduation requirements or by a specific study area.

Q. What is the Course Briefcase™?
A. A Course Catalog usually contains hundreds of courses.  As the student browses the catalog, the student may lose track of specific courses.  In the CourseCat-developed Catalog,  the student can place interesting courses in his or her Course Briefcase™ with the click of a mouse. The student can then view, consider and compare the selected courses on a single page in the Catalog.

Q. Once the student places courses in the Course Briefcase™ can the student use those courses to develop a printable Course Request?
A. Yes.  This is an optional function which is not currently displayed in our Sample Catalog.  This functionality is a common request and is definitely available.  In fact, we have been told that printed, legible Course Requests alone may save save enough in the time personnel spend in tracking and correcting errors to pay for the Catalog.

Q. Does the Administrative Control Panel give me total control of the Catalog?
A. You have complete control over the data in the catalog. Using the Control Panel, you can add, edit or delete courses, their titles and descriptions. Additionally, in the Control Panel, you can designate which courses are in which department, course prerequisites, and up to three other configurations which must be designated at the time the Catalog order is placed.  You may also print the managerial reports from the Control Panel.

Q. What managerial reports are available?
A. There are many reports which allow you to maintain the contents of the catalog.  A few are: Courses with Prerequisites, Courses with Descriptions, Courses by School, Courses by Department, and many others.  Additionally, you can generate aggregate reports which will list by quantity and percentage the courses chosen by the students for their briefcase.   These are planning reports and are available by district, by school and by department.

Q. Can new schools be added to the Online Catalog through the Control Panel?
A. No, new schools must be added by CourseCat.

Q. We have a specific report which we would like, are we limited to the standard reports?
A. You are not limited to the standard reports. We always try to accommodate our clients.  If the report can be generated from the data collected, we will provide the report for you.

Q. What support and training do you offer with the Online Catalog?
